'Ted Nugent's Gun Country' Will Not Be Back On DISCOVERY Channel

December 18, 2012

The Discovery Channel has announced that Ted Nugent's show glorifying guns won't be back on the channel.

A spokesperson told the Raw Story web site that the conservative rocker's hour-long special, "Ted Nugent's Gun Country", didn't do very well when it aired in October, with only 864,000 viewers.

Nugent was apparently under the impression that "Gun County" would be turned into a series and had reportedly told the listeners of Armed America Radio — which bills itself as the official radio program of The United States Concealed Carry Association — in October that there would be "at least a dozen shows a year."

Nugent, who is an avid supporter of gun rights and antagonist of President Barack Obama, was investigated by the Secret Service in April after saying that he would be "dead or in jail by this time next year" if Obama was re-elected.
